UPL second round for Feb

The second round of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) will start on February 10, Fufa competitions manager Ali Mwebe has confirmed.

The Fufa Big League, the second tier competition in the country, will commence two days later. “That is it on the two leagues,” said Mwebe.

This was communicated on Wednesday at the weekly Fufa press conference in Kampala. UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani had earlier, in an interview with supersport.com, projected the second round to kick off in the first week of February.

Currently, the league is in a recess with the players’ mid-season transfers taking center stage.

Mwebe also said that the clubs E-Licensing Workshop for club officials and interested journalists will take place on Thursday, January 8 at Fufa House in Mengo.

Vipers top standings from the first round with 35 points while Villa are second, two behind the leaders.
