Police too strong for Soana

Umar Kasumba scored a double as Police continued their decent start to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) with a 2-0 victory over Soana at Kavumba Recreational Centre on Friday.

The cops’ sixth win in 14 games sprung them three places up to fifth on 22 points, nine adrift of leaders Vipers.

Defeat for Soana, their ninth of the campaign, confines them to third from bottom on nine points with only a better goal difference separating them from Entebbe.

Kasumba’s brace saw him join URA’s Robert Ssentongo on the top scoring charts, with SC Villa’s Karim Ndugwa the closest on eight.

In the other two games at Namboole and Bombo, SC Victoria University and Sadolin Paints could only play out a goalless draw while Kira and Simba as well fired blanks.
